The PTP0030 is specifically designed for low power solar panels (up to 30W)
and sealed lead acid batteries (or Gel Cells). It is a very low loss, small, completely weather proof solar regulator.
Since sealed lead acid batteries can be damaged by overcharging the regulator design includes float voltage temperature compensation. The innovative nature of the design means that is has very good load and line regulation and consumes almost no night time current. It is simple (not even a fuse) yet it is idiot proof - It can be connected backwards without damage.
